Climbing Up

January 6th, 2019

Climbing up
Falling down
Wondering when I’ll hit the ground

Emotions spinning me around
I walk numbly through this town
Wondering if…
I scream right now
Would my need just rebound
For I am not heaven bound
So would the angels hear the sound?
Cos there’s a secret I have found

I’m Hell’s Queen
I wear the crown

Multicoloured Multitude

December 28th, 2018

Multicoloured multitude
Thronging past the window
Burdened with the gifts of consumerism
A force like a tide of poisonous algea
Swarming up and blooming toxic
The concrete street a river of your own detritus
The homeless shifted pebbles to another store

I hate you
And am part of you
Sipping coffee
With my bags of impulse buys
The greyness of the air
Drains the colours from you
Leaving a bland blanket of humanity
Treading across a desert of your own creation

Thought Network

December 21st, 2018

Immerse the mind in all things
And watch them feed each other
Growing knowledge
Ideas forming crystal structures
Spreading out from many cores
Little tresses growing together
Branches and roots entwined
Art feeds the science
And the science feeds the art
Seperate entities that touch
As distinct as the sexes
Spawning either or with traces of both
A kaleidoscope of changing inspiration
Twisting technology fund our dreams
And our nightmares too

Missed Stuff

December 16th, 2018

Sadly I did not make any of my November or December poetry readings and performances – this has been due to an emergency stay in hospital which I obviously did not foresee – I am very sorry to those who were expecting me but I think we managed to message all the organisers and let them know what was happening.

It did result in raw poetry – it was a miscarriage so due warning – you can read the poetry on my personal blog – it maybe a while before it is posted on here:

Expectancies Shadow

Geeks

December 7th, 2018

They are controversial in an unconventional way
By thinking original thoughts
In a world where ideas are prescribed
And deviation from the norm is social kamakasi
Sweet radical
Isolated through their own violation of law
Bewildered by antagonism
Over innovation
Their beautiful minds
Connecting what is obvious
Only after their engineering stoke
They fail to see the ordinary
And explore it’s extra-ordinary side
Unaware if the miss fits they are and why
Or swamp in loathing
Thinking they are the broken ones

They Sat

November 28th, 2018

They sat side by side
Each longing and craving the other
Locked behind their own miasma of grief
Mourning the lose of the other
Silence deafened and voices that wished to scream
Flew away as nothing
Hated sylibals said to hurt
to maim
To cover each of their shame
Twisting with cruelty
They whithered in need of comfort and compassion
Blame of the other staked their hearts
Bleeding the age of their bliss
Until it swirled down the drain
They sat dying of loneliness side by side

The Mask of History

November 21st, 2018

The Mask of History
Is thick and sweet
Sugar coated massacre
Covering up injustice
Offering the simplistic stylised view

It is a mask of deception
A mask of power and lies
It is the war cry Remember
And the Amnestist pledge

The Mask of History
Is carved from human pain
Formed by arrogance
And the whims of those drunk
With power

It is the mask of tyranny
A mask of hope
It is the radicals of freedom
And the chaos of order

The Mask of History
Is a fragmented ghost
Of stories told untrue
A way to summarise events
Too complex
It is narrative to life

It is a mask that doesn’t work
A mask to hide the scars
It is the wounding implament
And the bandage that binds

The Mask of History
Shows us heros and cowards
Lets us see
Movements of troops
Without the tears
In their eyes or
the smell of rotting flesh

It is the mask of simplicity
A mask to stop feeling
It is without emotion
Our emotional sync

The Mask of History
Remember it well
Look through the statistics
To the people who live
Scared, hungry, dying, enslaved

But then stand back
Put on the The Mask of History
See the trends aline
Make decisions wisely
A mask has wholes
Through those wholes lurks the eyes
Of our triumphs
Our desastors
All the things that makes us this
Strange creature of humanity

From it we should learn
Destruction of self
Should lay deader than the memory
Of valour and metallic twang
Blood of the multitude
Churned into mud
Charred to black ruin
Left in pestilence to die

Remember, learn
Look through the lies
People, humanity
Strive a new
Or perish darkly

The Human Creed

November 7th, 2018

The sky bloomed a pregnant pause
Sickly in its gestation
As the world shuddered beneath
Fear clung
Choking populations
In their own effluent
The stars pin wheeled around
Obscuring the clouds
As the world waited
Crimes of history
Lay as grimy stains
On Mother Natures pinafor
A mushroom enveloped the weather
And the pause was broken
It was an annihalation
Civilisations
Culmination

Melted skin,
Melted bone,
Melted metal

Long, slow or fast
Humans breed destruction of self

urban project

October 28th, 2018

Urban project
misalined
Pavements cracked
That guy smacked
Of no good
Full of shoulds
A few broke coulds
Into the woulds
Dreams crashed
The get away car
Wrecked
Stolen stash
Thoughts mash
Meshed
Left behind
Small and scrawny
Stowaway
Fire engine rides
Skate boards fine
Up the concrete ramp
Into the night
Wet shimmer of tears
Hide the fear
That there will be
A terminal fight
There is no right
There is no wrong
Strength don’t show
Who is strong
Sneering snivel
Waiting MATE
Knife blades click
Snick and slit
Slick
Ooze
Booze
Running
Piss stain
Sleeps in the drain
Head bashed
On the curb
Grubby threads
Foot falls
Treads
Dread
Pigs eat bacon
But you’re not even the sauce
Just the gristle
Maybe bone
Alone
Home?
There was one once
Hey what’s the fuss
Dying by degrees
Resting world weary
Eyes stark
Panic flares
Out cold
Cadaver no name
Shame.

The Found Poetry of the Concrete

October 21st, 2018

Reclaim the City

Within the cities lay the lost poems waiting to be found, within the edges and corners and hide aways.
