The End of Another WoPoWriMo

February 28th, 2013

Another February gone and a note book full of poems it has wrought. I have a lot of editing a head of me as I always do after such writing challenges.

I want to let the poems I’ve not popped on here (of which there are alot from various workshops and writing meet-ups I went too/organised, mature. I like to leave poems to ‘cook’ for awhile – I mentioned this too another writer earlier in the month and she has been quoting me throughout the social networks 🙂

My poetry focus for March is going to be The Little Book of Easter Poetry which I made into an audio book last year – I might re-record some bits and turn it into a download as well as getting a physical copy for people to be able to buy etc… But more on that later (hopefully).

So my poetry pen is now down until April for NaPoWriMo – unless something amazing spikes my poetry gland 🙂

Rarity

February 27th, 2013

A raw WoPo poem:

A gem, telling of treasures forgotten
A life of adventure and struggles
Gilded in dust of seasons past
Memories caress, loves and hates
Delicious swirl
Darkening to a none existant mist
A fading time in mouldering draps
Cobwebs obscure the light

Unity

February 26th, 2013

A raw WoPo poem:

A whole, a sphere, a loop and circle

Harmonic resonance of self

Contained an existence

Eternity within

Nothing and evrything

Vitality

February 25th, 2013

A raw WoPo poem:

Universal glow of mind
Bathing the heart
Long lasting
The ebb and flow
A lick of energy for the soul
Over flowing
The vitality of existence

Inspira Jars

February 24th, 2013

As part of a New Years creative challenge I said I would send something I had created to the first 5 people who commented with the idea that they would do the same 🙂

The first piece I have handed over is a Inspira Jar – a concept I sort of dreamed up whilst working out writing exercises. The idea is that you decorate a jar and then through out the year fill it with those odd ideas or phrases or inspirational things you come across. At the end of the year you have a good collection of things to start writing, drawing, creating with.

This one was made specifically with a student writer in mind 🙂

Inspiration Jar

Passion and Adventure
Self publish with confidence
lucrative novel deal after blog
Country Walking
EXPERT!
Sci-fi writers of the future
anthology
Don’t forget
Short stories
And another thing…
Well done
Bookend
Writing opportunities

Whimsicality

February 23rd, 2013

A raw WoPo poem:

The whimsy of you
Locked with this memory
A taste of a time gone by
Mulling around my tongue
An opportunity
An Us
That slipped away
Just as friends
You were gentle

Creativi Tea Postcards and Stickers

February 22nd, 2013

As part of the poetry writing drive for WoPoWriMo this month, I have donated some of my art work for postcards and stickers. The images I chose where Creativi Tea and Normali Tea which are part of one of my larger visual poetry projects.

There is competition on the site (free to enter!), to win them 🙂

Sign Language Poetry

February 21st, 2013

Here is a program on poetic sign language – not poetry translated into sign but rather composed within the sign language bringing the poetry into a graceful moment of movement as well as the beauty of words. It is another level.

Complexity

February 20th, 2013

A raw WoPo poem:

Interactions swirl
Cogs in the machine
Spin them too fast
And some reverse
Intricate predictions
Doomed by a chaotic dance

Visual Poetry Booklets

February 19th, 2013

As part of WoPoWriMo I have been meeting up with other writers to help them with writers block and what not. So I made some little booklets from old magazines and card cut with my special edging scissors. This are visual poems in their own right but can be used to inspire writers. One contained pictures the other only words that were chosen to fit due to type face as well as what they said.

No Strings attached

I am thinking that this may well be what I do for NaPoWriMo in April 🙂
